The F52:
All Revel speakers offer a very neutral presentation and will tell you exactly what the rest of the system is doing, for me that is what you need out of a loudspeaker. The F52 is all new to the Performa range and is based on the original F50A (itself a stunning and benchmark speaker), it shares the same drivers as the new Performa speakers, these include a trio of 6.5" Ceramic bass drivers in a rear ported sub enclosure, a 5.25" mid range in its own internal chamber and an aluminium alloy tweeter with a new horn loaded faceplate (improves dispersion). The F52 uses the highest quality components and again separates all of it crossover boards to the relevant drive unit section. Revel have now included room boundary and tweeter switches on the back plate to help with room integration, the boundary being quite a help is this is a large speaker with exceptional bass reach.

The I30:
The new I30 from Primare has achieved something quite spectacular, a sonic improvement on their classic A30.1 which was a benchmark product for integrated amplifiers at and well above is price point. The new I30 is based around the A30.1 but with specific improvements in certain areas giving an even more transparent presentation than before but still keeping the A30.1's sound and tonal quality. The power amplifier has a large output and incredible control, partly due to the 40 amperes peak current delivery; this enables the I30 to drive very inefficient speakers and makes it very flexible within systems. It also features a pre-out for adding extra power amplifiers for bi-wiring but also two balanced inputs. The I30 is a fantastic product and needs to be auditioned straight away!
