Why Choose Treatex Products?

Here at Floor Sanding Services we often get asked about what sort of finishes to use on floors. Thankfully, we supply several different types.

The main difference between the laquers and oils which we sell, is how the product sits on top of the wooden floor. Oils are applied in several coats which soak into the surface of the timber by a millimetre or two whereas the laquer forms a 'skin' on the top surface.

Laquers tend to be stronger than the oil finish, but if the floor is deeply scratched more oil can be applied whereas it is more difficult to touch up a laquered floor. While the oiled repair is still visible it is no longer permeable. The Oil finishes tend to break down with ultraviolet light and thus require recoating from time to time (depending on wear/sunlight etc).
