Devon Flooring and Timber Specialists Peter Quinain are a family-owned company with over 100 years experience in the Timber industry and pride themselves on using our high levels of specialist timber knowledge to help you achieve the right result.

We supply a large range of quality hardwood & softwood timber products and accessories for the home and garden:

Fantastic Hardwood Floors. Stylish, Hard wearing and elegant.

In particluar we specialise in structural timbers, quality hardwood flooring , external doors and internal doors, including traditional hardwood and internal veneered.

We also manufacture timber window boards and sills, stair case components, including spindles, balustrades and newel posts - sawn and planed all to your specification and from a variety of woods.

All flooring is kiln dried to approximately 10% moisture content and is supplied in random widths and lengths.

Boards are machined but not pre-finished and are supplied at approximately 20mm, and are tongued and grooved for secret nailing.

We also provide solid Oak beams for structural work. These are custom made and measured to your requirements.

Oak beams can be supplied plain or simply characterised and shaped to give an authentic appearance.

We can provide jointed and pegged King Post Roof Trusses and other Oak Beams made and measured to your requirements.

Grade 1:
Light Character.

A floor with more even appearance with slight colour variation and small 'birds eye' knots.

There is no visible sapwood and 'Tiger Boards' are not included.

Grade 2:
Unselected Character.

There is no selection with regard to knot content or colour variation. It will contain some sapwood.

The floor when laid and finished carries all the colour and knot variation right down to ‘birds eye knot' which is so characteristic of English Oak.

The European Grade 2 does not carry so much character as the English Grade 2.

Grade 3:
Rustic European/English.

A selection of English and European boards taken at random and showing irregularities and markings not found in other grades, ideal for barn conversions.

Grade 3 boards are finished at 18mm.
