Morning Sickness Treatments Devon
Morning Sickness Treatments
NVP (Nausea and vomiting in pregnancy) affects over 50% of mothers. NVP more commonly known as ‘morning sickness’ is a condition experienced during early pregnancy and can cause expectant mothers to feel nauseous and can often cause them to vomit. Usually morning sickness occurs in the early hours of the morning and should gradually improve throughout the day.

However, some experts say that the term is a misnomer as morning sickness can be triggered at any time of the day. Nausea can be mild or severe enough to cause vomiting although the severity of the symptoms varies in different people. Occasionally complications can arise when symptoms become so severe that the woman suffers from dehydration, weight loss and hypokalemia. This condition known as hyperemesis gravidarum occurs in approximately 1% of all pregnancies. According to the National Health Service, about 28% of women experience nausea without vomiting.
