Helston
is an attractive historic market town, nestling
midway between Falmouth and Penzance. It is also
well known for its variety of good quality restaurants
and public houses which all contribute towards
a bustling atmosphere, most especially on the
famous Flora Day when the natives of Helston dance
through the streets to celebrate the towns ancient
history.
With a selection of Junior and Comprehensive schools having a good reputation and providing a wide range of facilities Helston combines education, leisure and convenience with open countryside and coastal walks.
The principal towns of Truro, Falmouth, Penzance, St. Ives, Camborne and Redruth are within a half an hours drive as are popular beaches, such as Church Cove, Porthleven, Praa Sands and Marazion.

the Penrose walks around the National Trust's
Loe Pool as among the best in the West Country.
At the mouth of the River Cober, it is the largest
freshwater lake in Cornwall, providing birdwatchers
and ramblers with a very pleasant 6 mile walk.
Sporting facilities on offer within the town include, swimming, tennis, squash, badminton, bowling, mini golf and the swallows gymnastic club.
The Coronation boating lake and children's play area is a popular place for the family.
