 Liskeard
is a busy market town with the south coast and
Bodmin Moor close at hand. The town itself offers
a wide variety of shopping, schooling, business
and leisure facilities as well as having a main
line railway station, connecting to London (Paddington)
via Plymouth. The town is conveniently located
adjacent to the A38 providing easy access west
further into Cornwall or east to Plymouth, Exeter
and beyond. Liskeard town centre offers many amenities
to include 4 main high street banks, Somerfield,
Woolworths and Boots with the Safeways Superstore
being located on the edge of the town.
The Lux Park Leisure Centre has many sports facilities to include indoor bowling green, swimming pool, tennis courts and gymnasium.
 Many
of the villages in and around Liskeard, such as
St Cleer, Pensilva, Menheniot, Darite, Dobwalls,
etc, are well served with local shops, primary
schools and bus services to the town.
St Mellion Golf & Country Club is within a twenty minute drive offering golfing, swimming and leisure facilities as well as catering for functions of any scale. Siblyback Lake is approximately four miles from Liskeard with its water sports facilities.
The open moors are at hand for the walking and horse riding enthusiast with many historic sites to be seen such as The Hurlers, King Donierts Stone and the remains of the Cornish tin mining activity. |
