Somerset Architectural Designers, Court Design & Conservation, based in Taunton, was established in 1997 by Andrew Hayes B.Sc, a Chartered Building Surveyor, to advise and assist owners of period, listed or historic buildings with appropriate methods of building repair and to develop and adopt a sympathetic approach to alterations, extensions and conversions.
Court Design & Conservation can provide an extensive range of professional services from individual survey reports to a complete building project package.
Our Services:
Surveys: Pre-Purchase Surveys
A pre-purchase survey is one of the most valuable documents that any potential new owner should have in their possession before completing a building purchase.
The detailed report describes the form of construction, the condition of accessible elements and provides initial advice on any repairs and appropriate methods of implementing them.
Renovation and Conversions
The renovation or changing the use of an historic building requires great care, a sympathetic approach and a thorough understanding of the building's development.
All Court Design and Conservation design proposals come from a developed philosophy that respects the existing building, understands the history; uses materials and methods to preserve and enhance the existing building while at the same time providing for the long term survival of the building.
Our Philosophy
Court Design and Conservation seeks to promote the understanding and use of traditional building materials and techniques deemed appropriate for use on historic buildings to help ensure the future of these finite buildings is secure.
