Devon Welder Chris Coombes provides a Welding service, in Exeter. Chris Coombes has many years experience with wrought iron and welding. The basic premise of a welder is this: welders apply heat to metal parts to fuse them together. Welders use metal clips that carry a strong electrical current along with a rod with a steel core. When the rod touches the pieces that the welder is working on, a powerful electrical current is created, generating a lot of heat. That heat then melts and permanently fuses the steel rod and two work pieces together. |

Welders use this and other methods to melt and bond steel and other materials used in our cars, gates, fences and garden furniture, boats, appliances, the steel frames of buildings, and many other products. |

Skilled welding, soldering, and brazing workers generally plan work from drawings or specifications or use their knowledge of fluxes and base metals to analyse the parts to be joined. Chris Coombes can then select and set up the welding equipment, execute the planned welds, and then examine welds to ensure that they meet exacting standards or specifications. |
