 Teignmouth
is a busy seaside town with a population of approx.
15,000. It also trades as a small port with docks
handling the redistribution of bulk cargo and
has associated light industrial and engineering
units.
Said to be one of Devon's oldest seaside resorts, the town and its neighbouring picturesque villages of Shaldon and Bishopsteignton are conveniently situated within commuting distance of the M5 and the A38 providing a fast route to London (approx. 185 miles), and Birmingham (approx. 175 miles)
Also within easy reach is the market town of Newton Abbot, the cathedral city of Exeter and the coastal towns of Torquay, Paignton, Brixham and Dawlish. Teignmouth is served by a main line railway station and for travelling further afield Exeter's airport and the ferry port of Plymouth are both easily accessed.
 There
are many facilities for both water and land-based
sports with bowling, golf, tennis, fishing and
ridingclubs and centres nearby. There is a golf
course situated just outside Teignmouth, with
excellent views of the coast. For keen walkers,
the Dartmoor National Park is approx. 12 miles
distant.
Teignmouth boasts a long sandy beach ideal for families and the pier and promenade offer a variety of activities for all ages. |
